This is to take a personal message across to God oriented and spiritually inclined persons like your good selves who set fourth much by our spiritual legacy and hoary past.Lannur Sri Kamakshiamman Kovil is situated in the heart of Kannur Town, believed to be over 600 years old and presiding deity is Lord Sri Kamakshiamman.

 

Renovation committee was formed in the year 1986 to restore the temple to its pristine glory as the presiding deity of Kannur. Accordingly, multi faceted projects were drawn to complete the work in four stages. The dilapidated sanctum sanctorum was replaced with superior carved granite stone, harmoniously blended modern sculptor and Maha Kumbabishekam performed in the year 1992 under the auspicious supervision of then 38th Akhila Bharatha Viswakarma Jagadguru Sri Sri SHIVA SHANMUGHA GHANACHARYA GURU SWAMIGAL ( then 64th Madathipathi of Seenandal Mutt, Tiruvannamalai).Inthe second stage upa deva prathishtta has been performed in the year 1994.

 

Thanks to the blessings of Diety and the bounty of the devoteed like your good selves, the two stages has been completed in time as envisaged. NOw the great challenge of Maha Mandapam in franite stone and Raja Gopuram is processing athe work site at Chennai. The entire work is supervised and constrcuted by the renowed temple Architect Dr.K.Dakshina Moorthy Stapathy, Vedic Arhitects &  Sculptors, Chennai. The work has been commenced on the auspicious day of 26th April 2019 BY THE BLESSINGS OF Sri Sri SrI Sivaraja Acharya Guruswamigal(65th Madathipathi, Seenadal Mutt, Thuvannamalai.)

 

It is our duty to manintain our rich religious tradition, the store house of our spritual energy, our perennial source of inspiration unrivalled for their sculptural finesse and sheer beauty, handed down to us by our great forefathers.
